Course Objectives:
A basic understanding of knowledge management is necessary in order to grasp the intricacies associated with the concept. This course will provide an avenue and a common platform for discussion on matters relating to knowledge management. However, a basic understanding of knowledge management alone is insufficient in terms of understanding what specifically is required when developing a knowledge management system that is aligned with corporate strategy. More importantly, knowledge management strategies available have to be assessed for suitability and use within an organizational setting.
Once this has been established, it would be necessary then to map existing knowledge base and in the process establish the knowledge flows that are critical to the survival of the organization. Lastly, it would also be necessary to secure the necessary buy in from top management whose support in the implementation process is critical in ensuring its successful deployment.
