Understanding the 2025 PMP® Examination

Tasks include planning and managing project compliance, evaluating and delivering project benefits and value, and supporting organizational change.

The exam itself consists of 180 questions to be completed within 230 minutes. It has evolved beyond traditional multiple-choice questions to include a variety of formats designed to test higher-order thinking. Candidates will encounter multiple-response, matching, hotspot, and fill-in-the-blank questions, which demand a more nuanced understanding of the material.
