DEALING WITH DIFFICULT STAKEHOLDERS COURSE

Overview

Dealing with difficult stakeholders is difficult!! It requires patience, commitment to maintain a working relationship and most importantly skills of dealing with difficult people. Very often, it is the skills of dealing with difficult stakeholders that is lacking. Consequently, people faced with such situations prefer to either walk away or they themselves become difficult and this only makes matters worse. Until and unless concrete attempts are made to build the necessary skills to deal with difficult stakeholders, dealing with such people will remain a nightmarish experience.

This training program seeks to provide participants with a better comprehension of why some stakeholders are by nature difficult and what makes other stakeholders become difficult to deal with. Proposed Overall Learning Framework

The 70:20:10 Model for Learning and Development has been found to be most effective within the training profession to describe the optimal sources of learning aimed at developing work based competencies. It holds that individuals obtain 70 percent of their knowledge from job-related experiences, 20 percent from interactions with others, and 10 percent from formal educational events.

Based on this model, we propose that the Fundamentals of Project Management course be structured along similar lines. It is proposed that it is undertaken in stages. These stages will include awareness stage, appreciation stage and application stage.
